ANTI THEFT DEVICE

A lot of people think of me as kind of paranoid, but I don't see it that way. I see myself as protecting my property and protecting my rights. When I install a burglar alarm system in my home, no one sees that as paranoia. When I go the next step and install an anti theft device in my car, however, people think that I am wasting my money and going too far. My friend Randall took a look at my Honda and said, “there is no way that someone is going to steal that hunk of junk.” for my part, however, I wasn't about to take a chance. I wanted my property to be safe, and if that means installing auto anti theft devices, so be it.

The strange thing is that no one thinks anything of all the measures that I take for theft prevention in my store. I have anti-shoplifting devices on almost all of the products. The proliferation of RF technology has made it very easy for even a small business owner to use anti theft devices. You can even use a bar code as an anti theft device nowadays. Everyone is familiar with the detectors that beep at you if you walk out of the store with something that you have not paid for. Few people stop to consider the fact that this type of scanner is really a sophisticated anti theft device.

Few shop owners stop at this type of rudimentary anti theft device. Anyone who has studied commercial law at all knows that it is very hard to prosecute someone for shoplifting if all the evidence that you have is a beeping theft detection scanner. You are not legally allowed to stop and search someone, even if you think that they have stolen something from your store. When it comes down to it, the only anti theft device worth your while is a video surveillance camera.

Having a CCTV system in your store is the surest way to make sure that people don't steal. Not only will it discourage potential shoplifters much more than any anti theft device, but it will mean that you have the ability to press charges. Without this type of anti theft device, there is no way that you will be able to prove that they have done anything wrong. You will not be able to stop them, and you will not be able to prove that they've stolen from you. Therefore, they can steal from you with impunity.
